The Value of Honesty

This week I learned that my integrity is worth $240. Well, its worth at least that much, hopefully its worth more than that. But ultimately anything is only worth as much as you are willing to pay for it. This week, I paid $240 for my integrity. It nice to be reminded how valuable it is. Now, when the stakes get higher I will remember the worth of honesty and it will protect me from further mistakes. Cheers.

Those types of decisions are hard, but after the moment has passed, you know it was the right thing. This is called character development.

When I was at BYU and dating Karen Skidmore, I was filling out a federal grant application. They asked if I lived at home. They defined this as being there for longer that 2 weeks in the last 2 years. I had been home for 6 weeks, a year and a half earlier. Ignoring the technicalities would have given me about half of my tuition. I went with the 6 weeks and lost the grant, but Karen Skidmore was impressed and decided to marry me.
