I. Humans are intelligent because they can see patterns
II. More intelligent humans are better at seeing patterns
III. Humans tend to find patterns even when they don’t exist.
IV. If someone else sees a pattern that you don’t see they are more intelligent than you.
V. When you make a random observation people tend to believe you are making a point that fits with some kind of pattern.
VI. If they fail to connect your point with the pattern the tendency is to assume you are more intelligent than they because you have made connections that they don’t understand.
VII. Only the proud assume that you are spouting out nonsense when they can’t track your train of thought. The humble will give you the benefit of the doubt.
VIII. Conclusion. Making random irrelevant observations will make people think you are a genius
